Dr. Oetker Saves the Day! - Product Review and Giveaway

For those who know me, it should come as no surprise that I can't cook. I mean, I've tried. And sometimes it's okay. But let's face it, people. I just can't cook! Baking, on the other, hand. That's a little more up my alley. Do I bake more often than I cook? Not necessarily. It's just that I enjoy it a heck of a lot more than cooking. I am so lucky my husband is amazing in the kitchen. He is very passionate about cooking, so much so that he kind of wishes that I share his passion. And maybe I will. Some day. Until then, I will enjoy my husband's talent and, on those rare days when I am left to handle meals on my own without much notice, I'll resort to quick time savers such as frozen Ristorante pizzas or Dr. Oetker Shaker Pancakes.

These past few weeks has seen me more in the kitchen testing out Dr. Oetker Shaker products. The best part about them? That my kids can help! With nearly all the ingredients already combined in one container, you simply need to add enough water or milk until it reaches the line as indicated on the side of the container. Then, replace the lid and shake it all together for a couple of minutes. My kids thoroughly enjoyed this part. I, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed the clean-up. Just rinse the container and recycle. Easy as pie! Just check out how simple it is to make pancakes.

First, remove the packaging and unscrew the lid.


Next, fill it with milk or water up to the fill line.

Shake it all together for a couple of minutes and pour.

Once bubbles appear on the surface, flip the pancake and voilà!

One of the other Shaker products that was easy to make was the Dr. Oetker Cupcakes and Muffins. They are both so easy to make and each container makes about 6 servings each. The chocolate chip muffins were a hit in our house and they also have it in blueberry and banana bran. The cupcakes come in one of two varieties - chocolate or vanilla. I wasn't a huge fan of how they tasted but that's why I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will come out with a Shaker version of the super tasty Dr. Oetker Organics product line. Wouldn't that be great?

One of my other favourite Dr. Oetker products is their line of pizzas. I have always been a big fan of their thin crust Ristorante frozen pizzas that you can sometimes find on sale for as little as $3.99. They have a lot of tasty varieties but I prefer Ristorante Mozzarella and Ristorante Speciale. They have saved the day on many an occasion when I forgot to take out some meat out of the freezer. I had never tried a Casa di Mama pizza, though, until I was sent a coupon to redeem for a free sample. And boy, I cannot tell you how delicious it was! The thing is, people thought that it was homemade. Just look at how yummy!

Seriously, I could totally pull out one of the Casa di Mama frozen pizzas and feel good knowing that my kids will enjoy it. They don't have to know that I didn't slave for an hour over it, do they?
