As part of a Grade 1 project my son was given on community helpers, the two of us paid a visit to a local fire station here in Toronto. Because really, what better way to find out about a firefighter's job than from a firefighter, right? When we arrived, we were welcomed by fireman Ted who allowed my son to sit in the cab of the firetruck, showed him some of the special tools that they use and entertained his seemingly endless questions.
It was great to be able to pay a visit and get a tour of the station. I
found it really interesting to see a couple of old fire trucks there,
too.
