Growing up, I lacked any sort of fashion sense and always erred on the side of conservative. Arts and crafts were my preferred form of creative self-expression. And so it is for my daughter. She has always exhibited a high level of creativity from a very young age which she expresses through piano, dance, drama, art, and personal style. There are times when her sense of style is a little too bold and colourful for my taste. But that's okay. Because it's a reflection of her personality - bold, bright and unique.
Whenever her friends are over, it is almost inevitable that they will raid her closet and put together a series of outfits to model during an impromptu fashion show. They love rolling out the yoga mats for their runway, turning on some music and posing for the paparazzi. It is so adorable, I don't even mind it when my daughter puts on my heels to complement her outfit. Hmm, at least I have good taste in shoes!
For decades, Barbie® has used the latest fashion trends to express herself and own personal style. This month, she is encouraging little ones to #BeSuper and share their #SuperStyle to show the world who they are inside. From mixing patterns to choosing bright colours and a variety of textures, the possibilities are endless. And now, girls can do the same with the Barbie® Fashionista dolls, too. This line of Barbie® Fashionista dolls includes 23 uniquely-styled Barbies with eight different skin tones, 18 different eye colours and 22 hairstyles, all dressed in trendy street fashions.
