A Movie Date for Two

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

A little over a week ago, my son and I enjoyed a lovely movie date for two courtesy of Walt Disney Motion Pictures Canada. What was the special occasion? The release of the Diamond Edition Blu-ray combo pack of the classic Disney movie Lady and the Tramp. It was the first time either of us had seen the movie and we both enjoyed our time together. During the beginning credits, a sweet song played that was so moving, my 3-year-old son felt compelled to lean over and kiss me on the cheek. *swoon*

After the movie ended, we were invited to continue our one-on-one time at the Old Spaghetti Factory for a yummy spaghetti luncheon. If you have never been, I highly recommend you stop in for a visit. It has some of the most unique decor I have ever seen. And the largest gumball machine, too.

Once seated, we were serenaded by a talented accordion player who played a wide array of music, from Michael Jackson to Adele, Dean Martin to Elvis Presley. Yes, he was that good.

We sat next to our friends Craig and Wendy, whose darling girls received a complimentary face painting.

Then we started off our meal with a healthy salad, which my son enjoyed. He was a little camera shy. Can you tell?

Next up was a hefty serving of spaghetti with meatballs, in true Lady and the Tramp style. I'm telling you, there was so much on that plate, it could feed three people!

Finally, we enjoyed a bowl of tasty ice cream. My son couldn't finish his but, being the mom that I am, I offered to finish the rest of it for him. Please. Hold the applause.

In one corner of the dining area, there was a booth set up for families to have their pictures taken by Snugabug Portrait and Art Studios. It was really such a cute idea!

It was definitely a movie date that I will always treasure. And because Walt Disney Motion Pictures Canada is just so awesome, they also sent us a copy of the Lady and the Tramp DVD/Blu-Ray so that my daughter could watch, too! Just in time for Valentine's Day. Don't forget you can download printable copies of the Lady and the Tramp Valentine's Day cards, worksheets and colouring pages for your kids to enjoy.

Happy Valentine's Day!
