Hallmark Halloween Cards

Saturday, October 22, 2011

This Halloween, Hallmark has come out with some really ghoulish greeting cards to help spread some Halloween fear. Er, cheer. They sent a sample of these greeting cards for my family to enjoy. It's all part of the fun of being a Press Pause Panel member. There are some really neat cards that I wanted to feature along with some information in regards to postage. Here are my favourites.

This tri-fold Haunted House has a really intricate cut with black velvet-like texture. When you open it up, you can use it as a decoration. It even has a hole at the top so you can tie a string and hang it up.

Here's a cute little Mad Scientist card. I mailed this one and paid $0.59 for postage. Did you know the rates are going up in 2012? It will cost $0.61 and will increase to $0.64 in 2014. Hmm, might need to stock up on permanent stamps.

The next three cards are really neat because they come with buttons, a hair clip and a necklace for Halloween. I mailed out the one with the buttons and the one with the necklace, and as I had expected, the cost for both of these was $1.25 since the thickness of the envelope qualifies for non-standard lettermail rates.

The following card is pretty neat. Each window is covered with a special black film. When you rub it quickly with your finger, it reveals a hidden ghost, vampire or witch. The instructions say that you can blow on it, too, but that wasn't nearly as effective for me. Also, I'm being picky but the film doesn't line up with windows as neatly as I would like.

I think my absolute favourite Halloween card from Hallmark would be the first one since it doubles as decoration and looks really neat. Which one is your favourite?

  1. My favourite is the first one! Not that I'm hinting but I would so love to receive it in the mail for Halloween ;)
