BunkiMunki for Tweens - Win a Premium Membership!

Sunday, April 22, 2012

Have you heard of the Canadian start-up toy company called BunkiMunki? It's a safe social networking website for tweens who may be too young for social sites like Facebook, but still want a place where it's safe to socialize and play online. The website includes games, chat, Bmail, a really cool music mixer and even a virtual avatar. Who doesn't love designing a likeness of themselves, albeit as a furry monkey? And while monkeys are cute in their natural state...

... they're just as cute when you get to dress them up.

With BunkiMunki, parents can breathe a sigh of relief since it is a safe, meaningful virtual world "aimed at providing kids with the motivation to become positive thinkers and ultimately, confident and well-rounded young adults." They also offer a line of BunkiMunki products in specialty stores across the U.S. and Canada. The BunkiMunki plush toy is a replica of the online character and is available in six fashion colors. You can also get cool BunkiMunki keys that kids can wear as a necklace. They are available in a variety of designs so both girls and boys will want to collect them and trade them. My daughter got a Crazy Balance Yin Yang necklace and she loves it.

One of the things kids can do when they first log on to BunkiMunki.com is create their own home space with realistic décor to suit their own individual style and personality. They can visit the Emporium for a myriad of home essentials and accents to make their home even cozier. My daughter loved her new sofas. She also loves Munki'n Around in the games room. There are ten different games to choose from and they're easy enough for her to figure but still challenging.

One of my personal favourite places to visit is the Music Mixer where you can choose a variety of musical pieces from bass, drums, guitars, percussion and more to create your own really cool song. You also have the ability to save songs, too.

And if your child loves to write, he or she will surely love the online journal and Badge Central where story prompts await your budding author. For completing the various tasks, kids can earn a collection of badges. Many of these activities offer your child a chance to earn Bunki Bucks, a virtual currency that can be spent at The Emporium.

The website also offers a Premium Membership that allows kids unlimited access to all social media features including B-Mail, Chat, Friends and much more.

If you would like to try the Premium Membership, Toronto Teacher Mom readers can enjoy a 50% discount by using the code TMMFE12.

But the Bunki fun doesn't end there. One lucky reader will win a Key Necklace ($15 value) along with a Free Premium Membership ($44.95 value. Simply enter using the Rafflecopter form below.
