Recalling Summers Past

Tuesday, July 08, 2014

Lately I've been feeling nostalgia over summers past so I thought I would share this photo I posted on Instagram 12 months ago. It was taken while out paddling with my pal on our complimentary guided tour of the Grand River with the Grand River Rafting Company. We were taking a peek at an old gypsum mine from the 1830's. Ah, such fond memories!

    1. Not as brave as our guide. He ventured all the way in, deep into the mines. Not I, my friend. Not I.

    1. You do? It boggles my mind how miners were able and willing to work in such cramped quarters.

  13. Gypsum as in the stuff sheetrock is made out of? I just developed a new level of admiration for whomever it is that has the job of converting that rock into flat walls.
