Win Passes to See Disneynature's Bears!Wednesday, April 02, 2014
You know what I love most about Disney movies? It's when animals take centre stage. And better still, when it's a documentary on real live animals. Hence my excitement for the next in Disneynature adventures - Bears!
The last time I had seen a Disneynature film was nearly two years ago when I saw Chimpanzee. I had also seen African Cats a year earlier and appreciate the time and effort involved in telling the story of some of Africa's most beautiful animals.
This time, it will be even more interesting to see Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure “Bears” as it promises to showcase a year in the life of two mother bears and their cubs who live right here in North America.
Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown bear families must work together to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from predators, including an ever-present wolf pack. “Bears” captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses—where mothers definitely know best and their cubs’ survival hinges on family togetherness.
