VH Sauces Roasted Red Pepper and Cream Cheese Dip Recipe - #DeliciousSauces #CBias

Today, I ventured out on a trip to Walmart as part of a VH Sauces Shoppertunity for Collective Bias. I needed to buy some sauce and other ingredients but elected to leave the kids at home with my husband. The main reason is that I don't often shop at Walmart and when I do, it's for general household items or craft supplies. I knew I would have a hard time finding what I needed in the grocery section. I really didn't need to drag two kids up and down the aisles to look for ingredients while they beg and plead for me to buy them a toy.

To help keep me on track, I used the notepad on my iPhone to record a list of things I really needed to buy. But that didn't stop me from scoping out the craft aisle or the section with school supplies. A part of me always get excited when I see back to school items. It reminds me of how eager I was as a child to start a fresh new academic year.

With the few items I needed, you would think I would have been in and out in under 30 minutes. I think I was in the store for more like 45 minutes. I felt very overwhelmed and the signs did not clearly indicate where I needed to go. Where were the flashing neon VH Sauces signs, I wondered. Walking up and down the same four aisles trying to find exactly what I needed is not how I like to spend my time when I finally get a break from the kids. I was hoping to have time to stop for a cup of java. At least the workers there were very helpful and knowledgeable about the location of the items I needed in the grocery section. The Dairy section was much easier to navigate and I found the cream cheese right away.

Next, I proceed to the express checkout since I had less than 12 items. I think I was in line for about 30 sections before I could head to the next available cashier. It was a good thing, too, since I didn't bother to pick up a basket or a cart when I arrived. I always do that. I tell myself I'm not going to buy too many things and then end up piling more than I had planned. I didn't look awkward at all. Honest.

Finally, I headed home, pulled out my personal blender and followed the recipe I had found on VHSauces.ca. The recipe called for VH Soy Sauce but I already had some at home and I didn't have any green onion so I used a regular onion and chopped it finely. Since I wanted to share this with my kids, I omitted the hot pepper sauce altogether but I think I will separate a portion and add some hot sauce for the adults tomorrow.

I had never made my own cream cheese based dipping sauce before and I was really surprised at how easy it was to prepare. I can actually use this recipe when it's my turn to bring in some munchies for the staff for treat day. Yay for #delicioussauces!
