Ontario Science Centre Launches Eyes on the Skies

Sunday, June 05, 2011

Canadian Space Agency Astronaut Jeremy Hansen and visitor Gabriel Gaudet participate in the new Eyes on the Skies program in the Ontario Science Centre's CA Technologies Planetarium. (CNW Group/Ontario Science Centre)

On May 31, Canadian Astronaut Jeremy Hansen visited the Ontario Science Centre to help launch Eyes on the Skies, a new planetarium program for toddlers. It is a program that introduces and educates young children about the night-time sky in a positive, friendly manner through songs, connecting constellations and a journey to the moon. And since it is geared towards pre-school children aged 6 and under, I am hoping to take my kids there soon. I remember visiting a planetarium when I was a wee lass and marveled at the wonders of the universe. I'm sure my kids will, too. If we get a chance to go, I'll let you know how it is.

Happy Sunday!

  1. As a teacher who is a little sad to see the end of the NASA space shuttle program, this really made my day. Thanks for letting us all know about Eyes on the Skies. I am sending the info to my sister in Toronto as I know she'll want to bring her kids.
