FYI - The Heart Truth Campaign and a Meal Time Makeover Contest

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Did you know that heart disease and stroke is the leading cause of death for women in Canada? It's not just a "man's disease." According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, one in three women will die from heart disease or stroke. But this doesn't have to be the case. Instead of accepting this fact, women can drastically reduce the risk by as much as 80% simply by changing their lifestyle to include healthy eating and exercise. The Heart Truth Campaign aims to raise awareness about heart health among women and they have selected the Red Dress as their official symbol.

In addition to the Heart Truth campaign, The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Health Check program has launched a contest for Canadians to help raise awareness about women's heart health. Entrants are required to set up a quick profile on HealthCheck.org and submit a recipe for the Meal Time Makeover Contest.

Enter Health Check’s Meal Time Makeover Contest and you could win the Grand Prize, including:
  • All expense-paid trip for two to Toronto
  • A nutrition makeover from the Heart and Stroke Foundation registered dietitians
  • Grocery store tour
  • Healthy cooking class and lunch
  • Tickets to the March 24, 2011 The Heart Truth fashion show
  • VIP reception with Canadian designers and celebrities
  • Plus two weekly prizes of Health Check products
Contest ends March 7, 2011.

Share your healthy living tips and see them featured on the Health Check website and the @HSFHealthCheck Twitter feed!

Disclosure: I have been approached by Fleishman-Hillard Canada to participate in promoting the Heart Truth Campaign. I was not compensated in any way.
